Guest
Good news at last, even by buying 2 new batteries did not solve the problem and putting in a new regulator, however had the Sparky on board this morning and lo and behold the earth wire from the regulator was earthed on the altenator..this source failed. Sparky was apologetic that he did not notice this last week, but earth wire now on the earth block on the engine where it should have been in the 1st place
wheels 543
Ummm, did the sparky originally fit the Earth to the Alt???
Guest
No Wheels this was done sometime in the past, The sparky reckoned that it was fine for sometime (years probably) but the earth connection failed (to the alternator) so all sorted now. Amp meter / voltage meters are now showing correct limits
