Ok then so why can Welly weather do that to a lot of boats but it takes Northland weather to break a Welly boat???

There's something just wrong going on here :) :)

I like Robs comment I saw yesterday in a RNI Leg 2 report where he said he felt like a softcock sailing into Welly heavily reefed while the locals were heading out for a evening race..... with full sail up

But how glad am I that it broke where and when it did? Otherwise it would be in New Plymouth now.

Actually we were offered a deal from Physical Favours before the start of Leg 3. His boat was in Welly and our boat is in BOI so how about a swap???? Ross 9.1 for a Ross 930.

Apparently it was still doing 10 knots under jury rig into Wellington. :D

The crane driver was scratching his head how to get it down with half hanging in the air still this morning.

Another one is pulling in tonight sometime as well, not sure what the problem is with it though.
