Guest
The "best" Pied Piper Nationals in recent times (2007) had 25 boats - what are the plans to get close to or better this?
Marshy 30
Ah that was back in the good days the GR... But that was a cool regatta, and took a serious amount of organising to pull that feat off. Not only was it the biggest nationals on modern record. It was the biggest keelboat class Nationals held in NZ that year (Bigger than the 88's even!)
Guest
Absolutly, but Oldkingcole remember that quantity dosnt necessarily mean quality. We will be encouraging as many Piedy owners to get there entry in and this includes you!!! So make sure you have your boat on the start line on May the 7th and not in the Marina. Guest
Don't get it, I always figure the more boats the better. as in a number of boats that are similar in boatspeed to ensure good tight racing to mix it up, as oppossed to a number of boats that vary wildly in speed and condition. Guest
Shouldn't it be Piedy Worlds, and not Piedy Nationals?
Marshy 30
Intergalactics as we called it...
Guest
The Piedy Nationals are now run as part of the "Piedy World Series" which also includes the two handed Simrad Series, the two-handed nationals and the Des Townsend Memorial regatta. This format of racing was run last year and proved to be popular.
Marshy 30
Nice work. Two handed nationals sounds like fun! Might steal that idea....
