Ah that was back in the good days the GR... But that was a cool regatta, and took a serious amount of organising to pull that feat off. Not only was it the biggest nationals on modern record. It was the biggest keelboat class Nationals held in NZ that year (Bigger than the 88's even!)

Absolutly, but Oldkingcole remember that quantity dosnt necessarily mean quality. We will be encouraging as many Piedy owners to get there entry in and this includes you!!! So make sure you have your boat on the start line on May the 7th and not in the Marina.

Don't get it, I always figure the more boats the better.

as in a number of boats that are similar in boatspeed to ensure good tight racing to mix it up, as oppossed to a number of boats that vary wildly in speed and condition.

The Piedy Nationals are now run as part of the "Piedy World Series" which also includes the two handed Simrad Series, the two-handed nationals and the Des Townsend Memorial regatta.

This format of racing was run last year and proved to be popular.
