Hi all,

Just a quick update on my sailing, after a lot of hard work over 2010 I showed big improvements at Nationals gaining a 4th overall and only one point off 3rd place. Having taken the previous two years off Laser sailing to match race I was happy to see the return to my old form and the potential for a lot more.

As some of you may know, Destiny Bay wines has very generously offered to support me by giving a complimentary bottle of their Five Star rated 2006 Destinae wine worth $75 a bottle to each person who donates $100 or more to help my campaign to represent New Zealand in the 2012 Olympics in the Women's single handed dinghy, the Laser Radial.

To get to the Olympics, you need to excel in the tough big fleet racing on the World Cup circuit and at the World Championships in Perth in December. I have made big gains in boat handling and speed by training hard in New Zealand, but I need overseas experience to practice the unique starting and tactical skills required to perform at these world standard events. This year I plan to compete in regattas in France, Holland, England, Sydney, Melbourne and Worlds in Perth.

I am featured in Destiny Bay's blog - Winegaggle, the link to this is below. If you are interested in my campaign check out my website http://www.mirandapowrie.com. For more information on Destiny Bay, please see http://www.destinybaywine.com

Cheers,

Miranda
