Yeap in the NtM

The barge is well lit but unfortunatley that can make the yellow buoy hard to see - have been told that it will have a light on it but last night it did not have a light - just though it worth mentioning - would hate to hear of anyone running into the buoy - though if they did they would be inside the exclusion zone that everyone knows about.......

That will be on those easy to read signs on the sides of the barge no doubt.

HM's NtM did KNOT mention a buoy that looks exactly like a new racing mark, like all the other unnamed racing marks, that yachts are uncontrollably attracted to, bees to honey, moths to flames etc.

Just missed that buoy twice now.

Notice to Mariners: H032-09

Notice 30-11 Fergusson Container Terminal Works in Progress

Works will commence the week of 16 May 2011 to construct a new reinforced concrete

mooring dolphin, some 50m north of the existing dolphin. A piling barge will be anchored at

the location of the new mooring dolphin. The barge is expected to remain on site 24/7.

Support barges and work boats will also be accessing the site. The piling barge will be lit at

night and display the appropriate regulatory navigation lighting. The piling barge may have

an anchor located some 150m eastward of the barge. The new dolphin will be lit upon

completion.

The work is expected to be complete November 2011.

All vessels (other than those engaged in the construction works) are to keep at least 250m

clear of the northern extent of the existing Fergusson Container Terminal, minimise wake

and follow directions of support vessels.
