In the meantime let;s hear your suggestions, here are the categories: Coach/Official of the Year This Award was new to the programme in 2010 and is designed to recognise New Zealand’s coaches and race officials, be they professional or amateur. A list of finalist nominees may be announced in advance and a winner named at the presentation ceremony. the Sir Bernard Fergusson Trophy for Sailor of the Year Young Sailor of the Year Under the age of 21 on December 31 in the year of the Award, the Young Sailor of the Year was first introduced in 1996. Outstanding competitive sailing performance is the purpose of the Award. President’s Award The President’s Award recognises work done by a yacht club, individual or organisation to promote, support or develop the sport of yachting. Yachting New Zealand Cruising Award The Cruising Award recognises an outstanding non-competitive voyage or cruise, under power or sail, or outstanding services to cruising.
