Freedom Rig 27ft Trailer Sailer

A new concept. A super trailer sailer boat you can live in at sea or at home; tow to lakes and far off places. Constructed at a cost by a registered charity to assist NZ boatbuilders to compete against foreign manufacturers.

She is simple to sail with a light, carbon fibre, rotating mast and no rigging. This creates an easy, non-sickening movement which is fast and ocean safe. She carries a double reef, fully buttened mainsail and a combination furling headsail. Special breakaway overpowering attachments make it safe for single handed sailing. There is a sail drive diesel motor which gives long distance travel if nil wind and added security.

The hull is constructed of Paulownia. The super strong, lightweight timber used in surfboards, then fibre glassed inside and outside by a perfectionist. Lead keel and swinging centre board provide a shallow drift and self-righting. Water ballast can be dumped for road trailing weight.

Inside there is 6ft headroom; double and 3 single births (or whatever you require). Toilet, shower, dining table, galley with sink, gimballed stove and refrigerator. Of course there are many possible extras to satisfy the owner. Sailing instructions and notes are included and the first yacht is sold for the charity at below costs. We would like to build many more.

$140,000 o.n.o
