smithy09 50
Yeah it never blows in the Med. Millpond.. Looked like hard work Booboo... We had some pretty rough weather in the Med. In winter, the lows march along the N African coast, then up Italy or the Adriatic. Seas can be horrific, really steep.. Dunno about the 20% 80%... Even in the Ionion in summer we got some breeze... PaulR 3
a good rule of thumb is in the med you spend 80% of your time motoring and 20% sailing although there are exceptions. so where's the best *sailing* ? thanks all for your suggestions so far. looks like far too many options! I enjoyed the Baleric Islands, especially Puerto Andrix, SW of Palma. Flat calm mornings, ideal for water skiing, clearer blue water followed by coffee & Fundadore (?) brandy on the quayside watching the "touristas" arrive, Chat to the passing harbour master, bank manager etc long to very long brunch siesta then good sailing good breezes most afternoons for 3 to 4 hours, calm evenings for relaxing dip in the pool before sunset, dinner & party time. Adapted to this life style very very easily

The cheek of it. we had to sing as we wanted to sail in and out of the marina which was knot knormal. It was our disguise . . .
