ballystick 73 Posted June 29, 2012 Share Posted June 29, 2012 Last night the Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club held a farewell event for their two Olympic reps, Jason Saunders - 470 mens & Peter Burling - 49er mens. It was a great night with many members attending as it is not many clubs that can boast two Olympians, there were some good speeches including Andy Knowles who gave a good insight into the Olympics and the associated selection stories, followed by Peter and Jason. The evening formalities were capped off with a message from Queen 'Liz who luckily had just arrived back from Northern Ireland to pass on her best wishes and instigated a rousing cheer from the clubmembers!!
