Ross 930 Spring sprints

Turn-out was a bit light with only 5 boats for the first of the spring 4 handed series run by PCC last night but racing was tight and well contested.

After a bit of comedy we got 3 starts in with varied results for everyone. Being a set of WL, WL-finish with what felt at times like 100m beats you got caned if you cocked up the start or didn't go through the finish line eh KM :shh:

Spin work was tested...sometimes it paid...sometimes it didn't!

All up a great night out thanks to the Pons

Results: 1st Mean Streak, 2nd Scarlet Fever, 3rd The Entertainer

Next Mon is the next set and we should get 9-10 boats all going well.

Yeah, a bit of a bugger of an evening for us but a big pile of fun all the same.

The only thing we said pre the 1st start was 'as we have no idea of the course/s, rounding direction and all that we just have to make sure we aren't 1st to the 1st mark'. We then got a bloody good start, bugger!!! So took a punt on the rounding direction and then went around every buoy within 200mts of the patrol boat until something happened, in this case the rest of the fleet who were all nicely behind us crossed the finishline :?

I then fecked up the next 2 starts very damn well.

They line or H/cap results?

Where are the SI's?

I hear Squid V did good......................... and it's owner is lucky a sailmaker or 2 are onboard. A rooted kite anyone?

Told it was huge fun and everyone had a ball.

The MRX's were out playing on the same track as well so that added some excitement.

Another great night organised by the PCC!

Some very tight racing and once again heaps of fun.

Breeze was a bit fickle and some big gains (on a nice short course) were had when you were on the right side of a shift.

I personally was amazed when we'd had 3 flights (WL,W finish) in an hour; perfect after work sprints, beer, prizegiving then home by nine.

Mean Streak dominated again but pushed hard by the rest of us

MIA: Squid Vicious and Start Me up..where were you boys??
