madyottie 82
Here's an idea I tried a few years ago that never got any traction, now someone else is having a crack at getting it off the ground. The idea is to have a travellers series, with each of the five Manukau clubs hosting an annual regatta every season. Basically open to anything that can get to the events, so aimed at dinghies, cats, and trailer yachts. Results would be based on a hybridised weymouth/ horowhenua/nztya/schrs system. Top four regattas to count, allowing for one discard. If we can get it started, we have a key sponsor waiting in the wings. How would those from other areas feel about travelling "out west" a few times a year? Different water (open and shallow) and unfamiliar tidal effects could make it a new challenge. Are you up for it??
Zoe 8
I can tell you that French Bay is probably the best place in Auckland, to sail in a South-Wester. It is brilliant.
