Guest
I have a couple of old thru-hulls doing nothing - transducer, speed/knot meter. What is a common approach to this? pull the old fittings out and glass up the holes? or leave them in and hope they never leak!? In the future I could use the paddle-wheel or at least its hole if I get concerned about seeing my speed over water, but have mounted a shoot through style transducer now that seems to be working ok (I'm still amazed it works at all!) so won't need that hole again. Changed 10
Glass it up next time you're out. Best long term solution. The fewer holes in the hull the better.
