Guest
Hello all, I am rebuilding a Sonata 8 keelboat. I am putting a inboard rudder under it and have an old Quarter tonner rudder that might fit. Question is ,is the shaft big enough, its about 50mm with a 3mm wall thickness. What do you think? Peter
w44vi 17
YNZ has a chart of min shaft size vs blade area Look at page 30 http://www.yachtingnz.org.nz/sites/yach ... 0FINAL.pdf
Guest
Does the YNZ chart apply to hollow shafts or solid. Boat is of the quarter ton type, what is used in them? Peter
