Guest Posted September 1, 2013 Share Posted September 1, 2013 The pay to race around the world yacht race in brand new 70 foot monohull yachts gets under way tomorrow night with A brand new fleet of 12 Clipper 70 yachts specially designed for this race. There will be 670 crew from over 40 different nations participating throughout the race (270 departing on Sunday) and a total of 395 crew members from the UK and 87 specifically from London. In a great move when these boats get to Australia, they will all be competing in this years Sydney to Hobart which should help create more interest in a yacht race that has been declining in numbers for some time. If you would like to watch the start you can watch it live from http://www.clipperroundtheworld.com/livestream or check out the crew home page around 7:00pm tomorrow night (race starts at 0930 BST) and see if its up and running.
