Laminated some mahogany to make a spinnaker take town guide on the foredeck of the skiff.
Repaired the mast track
Repaired mast base where some swelling had occurred
Attached the Spinn halyard top block, - twice - once in the wrong position.
Fixed hole in mast from wrong position above
Sanded bowsprit down in diameter until it fitted in through the hole in the stem, then redid the carbon on the ends.
Made some cedar grips for the 2m carbon tiller extensions I'm making
made list of all the goodies i need to buy
Took main to sailmaker for Cunningham install
ate too much
got drunk
suffered at least three simultaneous headaches on Sunday...
Sounds like a good weekend! Looks like im in the same boat as you
Sanded the 3.7 floor, Filled some gaps, Sanded some more
Filled again, and sanded once more
Put the first undercoat on
Sanded AGAIN
Second undercoat
wet sanded fordeck-getting ready for a ton of varnish
sanded my rudder blade
Filled the rudder blade
Sanded again, Broke the old stock into pieces
Now trying to design a new one
Took my mast to a certain someone to get fixed
Now time for some more painting!

Left Auckland at the last minute, 2.00pm Thursday with Optimist on the roof. Got the Blue Bridge Ferry at 2.30am to Picton, arrived 6.30am. Son #1 sailed all weekend, got into the top half of the fleet, then caught the 7.00pm ferry home on Sunday with an overnighter in Wellington before driving home Monday. Top weekend!
Thanks to Keith from Manly YC for taking me out in his RIB every day to watch, anong other things, #1 Son Dip 17 boats coming into the top mark on Port tack.... Words were spoken!
Great regatta and well done QCYC! I had forgotten how pretty the sounds are!
Sounds like you had a great weekend! Keith is a good guy, And is willing to give lots of good advice, no matter what the boat
Ask Keith about Brock's big race. Just up from Green fleet, tail end charlie all regatta but then had a blinder in a light race on the last day. 5th around the top mark chasing the 10th best Opti sailor in the world.. Both Keith and Brock didn't stop smiling after that!! Held on to finish 12th.. Not bad for a 10 year old!!
Ill have a chat to him next time Im at manly, Sounds like a great regatta had by all

Geeze that would of been hard single handed.. Good on em I say
Myself and J.Harkin had a good sail in the 14 today.. its a shame the breeze died out though.. Although.. I did learn one thing.. I need to get fitter!
-
Went out to officiate the start of the WBC Sailutions single handed race today. Squid came along to give a hand. No starter horn. Dammit. Never Mind Squid can do a wolf whistle loud enough to be heard for a few miles!
So who ended up winning?
-
yeah true.. Hopefully there will be some tomorrow
-
But I did have one good part about today.. Being asked to crew for the route 66 race, And having the parents actually let me go
-
Turns out my floor on the 3.7 isnt as strong as i thought it was... Needing to do strengthening on the floor, Then I have to get my mast to C-tech some how, get new rigging through out and build a new rudder stock lots of small things that add up to a big cost and I cant even get out on the water untill tomorrow when I go for a blast in a I14
-
So you're in the same boat as me then...
-
I am indeed a 'he' (last time I looked!)
One would hope so
-
Now that looks like awesome fun!!
Even more fun trying to follow them in a rib
-
Went out and took some photos of J.Harkin sailing his international 14, The were honking along in the amount of breeze that was around.. 200 photos and 30minutes of video later...
