I thought it was a yacht
You're probably right about the rum caused delay.
If you launch a yacht, do you ever yacht a launch?
-
'The Solo Challenge' page/place/whatever on Saddobook I believe has lots.
Only one of the launch...
Perhaps some rum was consumed which has delayed the posting of more photos

How long have the holes been there already?

"I went fishing and caught a boat"
-
They do have form (for collisions).
How do you tell when a boat is cursed?
Not so many superstitious sailors around these days, but sometimes you have to ask the question.
This one is the old Alvimedica (source SA)
-
^ What is that?
-
So it just lifts the boom a little bit.
In days of old the flattening reef pulled out the shape in the bottom of the sail as it tightened the draft control seam... I haven't seen a DCS for many years
-
What is the flattening reef?
Does it just lift the clew or is the foot not loose?

Well done Pete
The award is now a popularity contest based on Internet voting, I don't think it should be decided in this manner. (Boaty McBoatface is an example of what can happen)

Storm is so bad we have even lost power in titirangi
You had power in Titirangi? Lucky bugger!
-
I can build it anyway I want, I just kind of want to know what the advantage is, cause it's got me stumped. My guess was it's somewhere between 24:1 and 28:1...
Thanks
Call it 26:1 and time to rip the top of a cold one
-
Instead on finishing on the boom is it an option to finish at the top triple block?
Are you looking for less or more purchase?
-
7 x 2 x 2 .... 28:1 (less friction)
After more thinking....
If the compound pulley system finished at the top triple block it would be 7 x 2 x 2 but as it finishes on the boom it might be only 6 x 2 x 2

60' aluminium boat for sale in Perth, looking for a good homeEvery material has pros and cons but my personal favourite these days is now aluminium but it's not that common or cheap, especially for yachts in my price range.
Racing fit out

Sweet Fanny Adams... And it will be a little bit easier to gybe

Then again $155 for this is good buying
From memory that was advertised for A$66K in 2013.
Have there been a lot of improvements? The coach roof looks different and the solar panels are new

The flares were 2 weeks old, normal flares, same as you get here, in the yellow container with red lid. Customs guys said they were going to destroy them.
WTF
Destroyed after spending some time "stored" in the customs guy's boat
I would love Customs to come and collect all my expired flares. Pretty hard to dispose of them otherwise, nobody wants them...
In Melbourne they arranged a day/time when boats can set off flares on Port Phillip Bay. All the relevant authorities are notified, from memory it was just before the first race of the winter series (usually a glass out sitting around under AP waiting for the wind to fill in)

Where is the rest of it?

I spent a couple of days watching in Sydney in 2015 before they changed to foiling cats
Gybing a couple of boat lengths from the rocks you are watching from was awesome
