Currently in the same position. Permanent resident in NZ but still traveling on a SA passport. In the process of buying a yacht in Fiji that is UK registered. The plan is to sail it to NZ before end of the year. What is my best option regarding taxes/duty? Is there a way to get around it as it is a first import but by time of arriving in NZ I would have owned it for less than 12 months. Thanks, Erich
