  3. Thanks to all for joining, looked like a top day on the water. Results are in but we'll hold off posting the full race results till the Vining Marine Series prizegiving is complete. Thanks and see you all next year!
  4. To clarify, there is no dinghy requirement for this race. DYC General Sailing Instructions make a requirement to carry or tow a dinghy under section 4, however DYC Short Handed Series SI [which covers the Single Handed Race] then states that "Single Handed Race Sailing Instruction section 4 does not apply" http://www.dyc.org.nz/sailing-programme/sailing-instructions/short-handed-series Conditions looking great!
  5. Yes indeed. A good course and generally a good breeze to get around. The DYC event details are at http://www.dyc.org.nz/sailing-programme/sailing-instructions/short-handed-series/single-handed-race Please note the 2 divisions and respective flag colours which differ from the Vining Marine series. There is one amendment posted for this event which relates to the time limit: Attention is drawn to NOR clause: 6.1 There will be no time limit. This clause remains valid for boats participating in the DYC Single Handed Race. For boats competing in the Vining Marine Single Handed Series Rac

    Bugger - Egit!

Not White Spirit, she doesn't have windows. I think you're right though KM, from memory Smokey has taken up residence off the DYC.
  7. Due to some excellent planning this great event doubles up on the Panmure equivalent. Devonport gives you the excuse to dodge work on Friday and do the long course. We are of course working on a holographic simulcast of the Pixies gig so don't let that keep you home. http://www.dyc.org.n...ded-gulf-rally Thanks to our sponsor New World Devonport

  9. This weekend Feb 25th, go old school with one of Auckland's legendary trophies. Classics, Mulleties and mixed fleet divs, something for all. Brought to you by the Devonport Yacht Club. NOR at http://www.dyc.org.nz/sailing-programme/sailing-instructions/duder-cup-regatta The North Island 2-Handed race starts of Devonport Wharf mid afternoon so racing with DYC will get you on the water and perfect view of their start, then back to the Club for a complimentary BBQ. Thanks to our race sponsor New World Devonport
  10. 2 Handed. Around Waiheke. Your call on direction. Hosted by Devonport YC, 3rd December, starting 9am. The important bits are all at http://www.dyc.org.nz/sailing-programme/sailing-instructions/short-handed-series/2-handed-waiheke with full NOR at http://www.dyc.org.nz/sailing-programme/sailing-instructions/short-handed-series Forecast is looking a bit light at this stage, but that really helps open up the race strategies. Thanks to sponsor Devonport Hammer Hardware.

  14. Overall results for the two DYC divisions which includes the SoloIQ boats. Hope to see you all again next season.
  15. A real day for the cats though, quite a bit of flat water slightly cracked I suspect. Gave the tower crew a heck of a surprise getting home in 2.5 hours.
  16. Thanks to all the visitors, especially the SoloIQ boats. 27 starters across the two divisions and a real mix. A bit of a Dr Seuss day really - One hull two hull, old hull new hull. Can't be too many times you get a gaffer racing off the same start as a clutch of 8.5 cats.
  17. OK, confirmation of amendment for time limits. Changed had some inside knowledge I suspect and was a bit ahead of us. However, amendment is now issued and will be posted on the DYC site soon. Also with the SoloIQ team. Attention is drawn to NOR clause: 6.1 There will be no time limit. This clause remains valid for boats participating in the DYC Single Handed Race. For boats competing in the SoloIQ Series Race 9 and not looking for a result in the DYC Single Handed Race, clause 6.1 is amended to read: 6.1 A time limit of 1700 Saturday 16th applies. If one boat finishes within the time limi
  18. Thanks GregW. Not sure why the original link failed. Dinghies not required. Changed has referred to time limits above. SI's state that there is no time limit for the race, however keep an eye out for an amendment for the SoloIQ boats over the next day or so. WindGuru seems to show a bit more than PredictWind. Fingers crossed.
  19. Devonport YC brings you another great single handed race, also making up Race 9 of the SoloIQ series. Saturday 16th April. 24 miles around Rangi, Motutapu & Motuihe. NOR at http://www.dyc.org.nz/sailing-programme/sailing-instructions/short-handed-series Race SI's at http://www.dyc.org.nz/sailing-programme/sailing-instructions/short-handed-series/single-handed-race General SI's at http://www.dyc.org.nz/sailing-programme/sailing-instructions Please note that this race is programmed for a single start for all divisions, extras and non-extras. Please note division flag colours.

    Jasmine

Jasmine used to have Farr10 on the main I think. Certainly a pretty boat and been a favourite for many years. Very well maintained last seen. Agree BP, maybe a lower cabin top. Def newer deep modern rudder blade and may keel too. Pretty sure I've seen her recently southern side of Westhaven.
  21. Yes indeed Elly. Not sure which came first but Devo's been doing it for many a year, probably just not promoting it as well. The big difference is that Friday is a full day, so it turns into a serious boys [or girls!] long weekend. Always welcome, the more the merrier.
