Have a three blade kiwiprop that is a bit worse for wear... Attacked after the wrong zinc anode didn't do what it was supposed to. So after any of the internal parts. Not sure what exactly at this stage.
If anyone has one that's spare please let me know.
Was it one of those new alloy zins, not zinc but alloy compromise? If so they are for freshwater. Many new outboards have the alloy and talking to a marine tech when I wanted new zincs for outboard. First question salt or frresh water? I took the old ones in as didnt have a lot of weight to them, look good on the outside until he tapped them.
I have a plate zinc for trim motor, skeg and 2 on motor itself. replacement alloy $75 or real zinc $85 worth the extra $10

I cant help but feel this will be a one off or flop. Too many advantage points to be economical as far pay to view from a grandstand.Depending on wind direction the uper end of harbour, will to flukey unles the course is straight up and down harbour with no wing marks.Take a swnot a lot room to have a windward start. be something like Stanley poit to Westhaven then a very sprint to what Bayswater beacon area? Cannot see it working.Se can only be reaching up and down Harbour. E windward/running. Be great to see but just cant, nor can friends, see it working

Building any vessel. The hull is the cheapest part, then comes the fit out and home builds stop at that point.

smartmarine has more knowledgeable staff I have found, older gentleman at manukau and he is clued up,if he cant help he tells you where to try and he hasnt been wrong so far.
My local Burnsco, staff have no idea, even taking part in and they try to sell me something non compatable.
Do you play one off against each other now and again to see who will price match or better.

Trial finished Friday and will be months rather than weeks on outcome.. What has this cost the tax payer ?Wait till he admits guilt or just let him out on parole

Why, oh why, did Auckland Council simple not say "register your jetski by getting a VHF callsign".
Why not just trailer regristration? If you have a double trailer,as same do,then add a extra number?

In NZ licensing and registration is a solution looking for a problem
possably required for trailered power vessels, how do you report/identify white buccaner/sea nymph etc moored vessels mostly have name displayed and easier to track if need be.
jetskis have to be registered,so why not trailer vessels.

So only $60 a year to register your boat? Not so bad then!
And a skipper licence

You are sailing in zero visibility. You need to pass a big outcrop of coral to port then turn 90 deg port. What navigation tools do you have and how close will you get and still be comfortable? Closer cuts time off your trip, farther off means less chance of hitting the coral.
Whats the old saying? " If in doubt stay out"

I believe they have dredge about 1 hectare with good results, another 17 or so hectares to go at Iris Shoal

And another appeal. Where will the case go?? With the death of a key witness Guy Wallace is this going to be a fair trial?? I have no firm opinion guilty or not but seems to me others have got released sooner for similar crimes. In Scotts mind he is innocent and would be released if he admitted guilt but in Scotts mind hes not guilty.

I didn't realise the H&S at work Act, nor the Maritime Transport Act only applied to passenger carrying vessels.
It doesnt,it relates to any private/commercial/passenger or non passenger/fishing vessels etc Part of MNZ and over rules any club/ynz etc

used a shute in a 18ft stabi off colviille bay, 10knt easterly incoming tide ad plan was to drift fish and the shute would help us stay put nope. it was 2m diameter no exit point for water like a drogue, Set so was probaly 5m behind vessel .Surprised me at the rate of drift 1.2knt east watching gps, At the I thought now how big does a drogue have to be to hold 40ft yacht head to wind in 50+knts and seaway.
