Your co ordinates have you going in to army bay?1.06 miles out, google maps.is that correct,as I have never found google maps reliable at sea. if it is right i will give it another try instead of playing with paper charts and reading co ords off gps

Ha Ha vessels name still there on page 2 "rangi" post Ha Ha

Had a situation off Bean Rock late last year.We were on port on the wind, heading up the harbour.A group of seriously big yachts racing were coming down reaching with kites on port (windward keeps clear)as not to impede the fleet we went head to wind before we crossed the fleet and we got acknowledge by most.Courtesy costs nothing
So in Kevin's case perhaps the 50 footer should/could of gone a little bit further to leeward but then we do not know what was to leeward of 50 footer.
-
Passed 3m to leeward??I personally would feel a bit close in a non race situation, the other vessel is not here to defend themselves, but whose to say there was plenty of room but you came down on him?

We anchor normally off the caretakers place at wanganui island(small boat passage) good holding in sw,we go across pasage and ring taxi if weather not good, otherwise motor dinghy across and yep hm is a twat.name on dinghy and l/j
-
No chance of dragging last night.1/2 cut and dropped anchor in someones dinghy, lucky we left early early today.

both designs become obsolete in a very short time as 1/4 tonners, had a 25(tachyon)with 10hp bukh shaft 2 bladed
imo the 25 has more room but the peterson sails a bit better.for the price they go for.both make good cruising family safe boats
i got it wrong it the salthouse 19.6 waterline and cav 21 waterline.
If I wanted a vessel to motor around in i would of brought a launch

cav 26 3 blade kiwi feathering and no I would not like a o/b hanging off the stern because when hobby horsing prop would pop out of water . to get o/b lower enough, long shaft, head would not high enough above water for my liking, what would be worst,a o/b under water or doing 0.5 with inboard??

This reminds of a yacht I had 3 yrs ago that sunk due to electrolysis, bronze thru hull with a s/s ball joint with a copper tail.little did I know that the ball joint had eaten thru, insurance co sent part off to metal tester to confirm that was the issue. The yacht had passed a survey at time of purchase.

I was in blackpool(waiheke)last sunday night,nw 20+ anchor held fine,8.00pm wind swung to sw 20+ and noticed we were dragging, fast, rather than mess about resetting picked a mooring that looked to be in good nic.stayed onboard incase owner arrived. If I had not been onboard and some kind person re anchored for me I would be most grateful

The whole seachange proposal is that there will/can be 13 mpa no take zones which may/will include no anchoring
possible commercial zones only
iwi control/only zones
It has to go before doc/mpi then public consultation(roughly how it will work)mpi who want more fish exports may not support itt mpa/reserves have little to no effect on stock outside of the zone

Have found it on the westhaven site and its a no scrub area,inspection/ replace anodes only
No painting antifoul

Yacht grid in westhaven??where?I thought they all got removed to make way for the promenade walk way.

dockside at Panmure on Saturday I had to contend with idiots in rowing skiff chase tinnies throwing up wakes as they hooned in to the ramp. Then when I motored out to Musick Pt I had one fizz nastie pass me to stb while he was "driving on the left" of the channel - and that was after I put the helm down 150m out. Fucker then had the gall to gesticulate to me about the "rules of the road". I told him to "go away" and read the right book.
Boat licences won't do anything to solve ignorance Kevin. A personal willingness to educate yourself on how to boat will.
Do not forget the wankers who are in the dry stack Mt Wellington, yep had one at the first red can from panmure telling me I need to be the stb side, anymore stb I would of been in the mud at the can. Flare pistol springs to mind.

The sculpture has largely been funded by a $1 million gift in 2013 from the real estate firm Barfoot & Thompson to mark 90 years in business.
The cost blew out to $1.924 million before being trimmed to $1.5 million.
The $500,000 shortfall has been filled by private donations.
