Pactor 3 will work fine. I can probably lend you a iridium extreme ph (does data as well) as a backup for 6 months if you wish?

Cheap and good is a contradiction. Get a victron Bluetooth MPPT controller. Best programmability, best output. The others, including Tracer, wont give you the same output or the same battery life as a victon. They start at $200 - how much are your batts worth??

Yeah, have to look in the top - see what's there. Or look here https://challengeyachts.com/water-heater/califonts.html/

Sounds like the flow/pressure sensor is leaking. Good luck!

The issue is that no gas fitter will likely touch it, as it des not meet the current NZ regs. But a self replacement might work? Might be cheaper than a repair? https://www.millen.co.nz/products/water-heaters-lpg/194.html

It's still been one of the few offshore racers that an average sailor can afford a boat to compete in, although this is changing more recently. Performance wise, a modern smaller offshore racer is considerably faster than an old 45 ftr. Provided the whole race is not to weather!

Mostly, if a NZer (citizen or permanent resident) arrives here in a boat they own, purchased offshore, GST (and duty, if any) will be due immediately on inwards clearance.

Marine antenna and costs now released. $10 000 hardware, $5000/ month. Seems kind of ridiculous, and I think that's usd!

Those look like they have no tether points?

Lustys have the scanstrut ones…

easy to make. Any stainless fabricator can make one. Where are you based?

Then you need to convert it to the NMEA2000 standard. Looks like on of these would do it https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/pn/010-01226-00

Wind transducer or wind instruments? Vulcan has no NMEA0183 input so if instruments you'd need a NMEA2000 adapter ...

Nice. Do you have a Starlink supplied base station? Or is it a after market one?
I heard the Starlink ones had plastic gears and could not keep up?
That's my understanding as well, and some have disabled the motors. No personal experience - yet.

Plenty of people using it on boats at anchor. Plenty of people using it on boats underway. It is geo fenced in parts of the States but not here it seems. Mine is installed and up an running.
The FB group Starlink on Boats is a good source of info.
While this is true, the current antenna's are not designed for mobile (boat) platforms. The RV one is ok when stopped. New ones are coming that are designed for movement...

Still a fair way off, here is the current coverage map;
The light blue places are covered, and only about 15nm offshore so far. But it's coming...

Good question! But you'll be able to have a NZ phone number (via IP phone) from anywhere, and broadband level internet

This is an Auckland issue, every other ports I’ve sailed or run races out of, if you get 5 blasts you also get a fine from the harbour master
No issue with that Jon, again, enforcement (lack of) is the problem...
If a few decent fines were issued, it would get round, and perhaps some would book training courses?

Nah, not needed on the phone - just pull up the antenna - its much bigger than the iririum go one.
