The thought crossed my mind as it could tie in nicely with the sydney to auckland afterwards.
But the wife didnt think it a good idea in her crusing boat and having thought about the hobart i did, doing it 2 handed would have been hell.

Crickey we have that problem with radio controlled yachts.
Not sure its a problem, who doesn't want to take a day off work to go sailing...?

Easter is what killed it, id suggest not a long weekend. People dont mind taking a day off work to go sailing, but families dont like losing long weekends.

They race as Pear Shape Racing and won the first leg and are/were winning the second one too, however they seem to have lots of tracker problems

Bryon, both Gale and Krakatoa plumbed in separate tote tanks with valves etc before RNZ. Come take a look one day. If i had a fuel issue the plan was to flick a few valves and carry on with new supply.

Actually, based on approx 40L for 120nm, I guess that 20 hours at 6 knots, your number seems more accurate. Not too interested in cutting it fine. Any easy way to actually measure it?

SFA. Old engine seemed to burn about 2.5 - 3L an hour

From memory fuel requirements are based on being able to motor x distance in flat water. (150nm?).
And 20L extra fuel.
Are you saying outboards use too much fuel to motor 150nm to be able to carry safely onboard?

I didnt bother with CG app after finding winddan. Its awesome. Try it. Has all nowcasts on one page. CG really missed the boat on their ‘upgrade’

Doubt a racier F32 slower than hooters. Didnt superbad (F32) beat then in a windy sw coastal a few years back?

Whats the question? My lifelines have no ferrule or low friction rings, just lashing through a spliced eye in the lifeline. Chains ropes and anchors did mine. I spliced the ones across the transom, its quite a fiddly splice.
