Why not use a temp controller? Then you can leave it on, and it will switch in and out to stay in the programmed range.
Because Fridge only runs when engine does, dont mind it getting 'too cold' during that time. Trial and error has shown about 30 mins does what we need to keep it the 'right' temp.

Our compressor driven fridge is very efficient. We have a serious 'first world' problem in that if we run it for more than 30 mins, the beers freeze. I am after a simple timer so we can turn the fridge on and after a set time it will turn off. Anyone have a simple solution?

Very tidy looking boat. Good luck, have fun!

I'm perhaps too simple to understand these big words, but did you say that KM does not contribute to NZ society?

This should be 3 day sails with a night in between. But if light winds, will be bloody tough (long)

What time does the saturday leg begin from marsden cove? Ive had some very slow R66 races, some where boats dont get in before cut off time. Is there a plan to deal with that if it is a lightwind race?

I've reported this post. Adopting the language of the extreme right to describe people who support the rule of law sets a dangerous precedent for this forum.
Wow.
How dangerous?
Man, lucky you are here to keep us safe.
Im thankful. No, really...

twin rudders is a bit odd, guess they have to work around outboard mounts etc. but very nice

Wow - spendy is right!!! And I guess that listed price is not the carbon version...
How do they row? I guess they don't have a rig....
Pretty sure i have recently seen a sailing version. I think a carbon sailing version would add up fast!

Agreed. That PT11 would be the ultimate.
Re the sunburst. If I got an old ply one i thought could double up the forward bulkhead and run a saw blade between the two. Then adjust the rear seating to accommodate the bow. Maybe not as silly as it sounds?
Sounds worth a shot!

A slightly nesting sunburst is a cool idea. I still dream of a PT11. Too spendy though (and wouldnt help you if you cant build).

Gale Force has supercable, spliced by CRA(4mm I think). I spliced the transom lifelines, and while it was perfectly doable, it was pretty fiddly.

These are CATL cells, ex china. I will be using Victron MPPT chargers, Mastervolt smart reg.
Cool, Thanks.
Am upgrade from my single 130ahr lead acid battery has been on my mind for a while, but costs have been prohibitive with local suppliers, so keep us informed on how it all goes. -
Wow. Thats very very cool

I'm very interested in this. Which brand, how are they managed, what charging system you use etc.
And if all that's shipping cost, you obviously bought these overseas from somewhere, not local. Whereabouts?

Pro tip - spray on the way down, not up, makes climbing hard! 😂

My old weaver hatches need new seals. I have 5m of new seal, but am after a bit of guidance. Do i need to glue the ends of the seal to make a complete ‘loop’? Or can i just butt up against each other?
Do i need to glue into the slot?
Ive tried google without success, but that may be my skills rather than lack of info!

Quick question for those doing the Baltic 50 coming up.
The course sheet shows the last leg going back round Motutapu and Rangitoto to starboard, the SI only says Rakino to port then Finish
I don't race Auckland but do take an interest in this series as a possible future mission.
To me it looks shorter to go the north side of Rangitoto to get back to Auckland.
What am I missing?
p.s. well done those that managed to stick it out this weekend, had to be better than sitting at home waiting for the weather to clear.
The maps are indicative, the wording of the SI's is what counts.

We installed a horn cleat beside each cabin top winch, great for putting the halyard on to stop slippage in the jammers and to unload the jammers a lot. We can use that to do as you described too if neccessary.

I have spinlock.☹️

The ‘inadequate clips’ are fine if used as intended. I believe if most tether clips get caught and side load they will be much weaker.
i had 2 strobes on voom that floated on their side, replaced after Tim C bought it up.
I had an old liferaft i inflated. Torch batteries were flat, possibly spares flat too. Flares were 2 years out of date, liferaft only 1 yr out of service.
My PLB with a 7 year life stopped working after 5, replaced by manufacturer. Test them people (check the time, just after the hour maybe?)
And here is one of my own making. I unscrewed the canister in my inflatable lifejacket for flying. 12 months later opened up to service and canister fell on floor. I forgot to reattach!

Those are all good ideas, thanks!
