I'm with Dr Dave on this. Reckon its complete bollocks. Why any worthy media house would waste the time it takes t write such a load of crap is beyond me.

wot is a MOD70?

when my (tempered glass)windows were done I'm pretty sure this was the schizel stuff. One word of warning though.. make sure you have really good
covers arranged because taking the windows out is an open invitation to every rain laden low pressure zone in the hemisphere to rush on in to Auckland (or wherever you may be). Took mine out and it bolted down for 3 weeks.

I got told once that wringing one of the bastards necks and then hanging it in the rigging would work but I chickened out, so I threw shooting potatoes at em cos I could not find a recipe that made those palatable.
After a 40kg sack of spuds it worked which just goes to show even bung spuds are useful and that those bloody stupid squawking grey and white sods (u know - the ones that miraculously appear out of no where when u take hot chips to the beach) can learn.

Zozza - my only recommendation would be to get two opinions about what you are doing. Without offence to anybody - everybody can be wrong.
I had an issue in my system and one opinion was to replace the loom. I wasn't convinced, had it tested and there was no problem with it, turned out
the alternator was the issue. Had I gone with first opinion I would have paid for advice (cant recall what that cost), acted on it - which woulda
cost $500, and still been left with the bung alternator.
FWIW I found success with an auto electrician in Silverdale - great guy. To look at his operation you'd probably think twice because the shed is a
sh*t fight, but he nailed it (i.e. correctly diagnosed the problem) in one visit.
I now take all my cars to him for servicing, if anything goes silly with electrickery stuff on the boat I'll get him to look at it 1st.

in any case..

I don't think they would have a choice.
IMO Iin any case its highly unlikely - we don't have enough big noters with wallets to match, or do we ?

awesome .
Seems accessible to all without massive $ backing. Wouldn't it be cool to see some backyard genius do something really out there and win it? Surely
that's a way of making the everyday guy interested.

Good on Peter Burling for poking the bear at the press conference! Got a snap too. It doesn't seem like his style, but I hope he has more.
Shifty day and having regained the lead covering would have been the go in latter stages of R 2. I know you have to be brave but win it 1st.
I don't do Facebook but opened the link to ETNZ page and a poster noted that Oracle removed something from the boat immediately
after race 2. Anybody know anything??
I'm assuming it was something other than a strutting Aussie helmsman.

out of the ordinary maybe, bizarre certainly not. He survived which makes it the correct choice.

even more fun is running the diesel dry tank at Motuhiue so you know there is no option but to use what's free, sailing off the anchor and onto the old W (?) pier ( before the yellow dock got shifted there) at , filling up at and going back out. All single handed and without incident.
Taught me a lot.
Including not to run the tank dry

Funny how this guy can be celebrated but others with the same 'free spirit' get a caning for daring to ask...

but entirely believable. I'd be watching my back if I was the devil, and that should mean someone else can punch said Devil fair in that smarmy gob hehas.

Televised live on sky today. BAR did kind of make a meal of it although unsurprising differences given the
size of foils on TNZ. Almost a mono foil.
Cover don't cover question remains a no brainer - doesn't matter what class of boat - with 2 evenly matched boats the one with the tactical strength
should win. I'd suggest at this time the result for every team except Oracle is to have made the next round and so shooting away on a flyer is either a "lets see" or "we don't give a rats" moment.

Neither, I'll go down to the Squadron and watch what I can with a bacon butty
Slap on some sunscreen, order French fries with it, and you'll feel like you were there
Seriously, a question tho' - will they admit anyone or does one have to be a member. I quite like bacon butties and have a list of places around town where they can be obtained. Didn't know Squadron was in the game.

my wife says im never allowed to do it, even if i won the funds in lotto to pay for it
That's just plain mean.
-
...Turns out gh won't haul you if your bottom is dirty????
BP have they told you that? i.e. have you just heard from someone 2nd hand or did you see their lips move..
If it is the latter - anybody want to buy a Townson 36?** Never been rallied, raced or rolled ...
I'm almost done with this kind of crap.
** semi joking, but if the offer is right I'll consider it

Whakatane looks to be in the cross hairs. Good luck to all - run for the hills.

Do I understand correctly that this is 1500RPM and now 1000 RPM in Neutral??
Yes Wheels that is what I believe I was told. He was speaking in an Auckland version of South Islandish though, so I could be mistaken.

on behalf of a friend down south...
has a Jeanneau Gin Fizz (38' cruising fin keel, skeg hung rudder with a fixed 3 blade prop). No idea what size prop off the cuff.
Normal start regime is to let it warm up and kick it in the guts to 2400rpm just because. Yesterday will not go beyond 1500rpm (unloaded) after warm up. Motoring from Nelson to Mapua it would not go beyond 1500 rpm. Cruising revs are 1500rpm underway but normally when asked - will push on to higher rpm and dig a bigger hole in the ocean....
Got to Mapua, tied up to the wharf for a cup of tea and a sleep, later in day started again but now would not run beyond 1000rpm.
Injector pump rebuilt approx.1 year ago. Nothing else has changed - except the inevitable fouling.
Oil pressure seems ok, fuel bowl clear of water, no warning lights, new diesel fill just recently. Boat gets used regularly.
What could the issue be?

Thanks Willow. I'm surprised but all that means is I am unaware of the rules , hope no offence taken by any of the competitors, none was intended.
-
yeah but I was thinking you might snag it on the barbe
Call me a dumb arse butI didn't know s/s was non magnetic. U learn something every day..

But only Blink and Wedgetail are still in the hunt for Div 1 as all others have swapped crew at some point
Jon - I read this a few days ago and just wondering is crew swapping normal? I have no axe to grind with anybody and I guess its within the rules, but it seems a bit strange to me - after all I would have though the idea was that a boat and its crew raced the race - whatever that is - round the lake/ the island/ the bouys - whatever.
Seems to me that the same 2 crew should be in for the duration, and I'm not sure why you'd do the race under any other circumstance.
I realise that things happen and if one of the crew gets hurt there is no option. Or did I just misunderstand your post?
Awesome to see Pahi performing so well. Just goes to show how the age of a boat does not necessarily determine its performance - and although you cannot compare different divisions with a straight face, the elapsed leg time puts Pahi up a division and 3rd in that div. Pretty damn good performance by crew and vessel.
In any case well done to all (including the organisers and the small army of volunteers) - but especially the battlers still out there who will complete the course unless they simply cannot.
Auckland might not host the Cup

Be careful is all I'd say to the TYPBC and remember what can happen to a host when parasites come to visit. Other than that give it hell, if Auckland isn't getting on with it then it must go somewhere else and better Tauranga than Italy.
Looking around Auckland these days you'd have to say development is really causing a bit of chaos, I do wonder if the super shitty could cope with another set of road works in the middle of it.
