Coastguard coastguard.. just lodging a TR... heading from the port winch to the starboard winch... ETA about lunchtime... over
Was thinking it looked like a 50 footer in that top photo.
Infusion process looks complex.

Goes bloody well downwind
Shoulda put a mast on it ay...
Not a trailer set up but for a modern boat I love the look of these Salthouses.

Looks very similar to e new IKEA store in Auckland
Except when you put it all together you get something a whole, WHOLE, lot more sexy!
Are you getting a carbon mast DW

I live between two broker berths and recently got a gouge out of the side of the boat. (I only finished repainting the whole thing 18 months ago)
Was talking to the neighbour across the pier and he said he saw the guy leave and somehow get the nose of his newly acquired stinkpot through onto my side of the pole. I know the boat is around at Milford marina now but what can you do.
Kinda pisses me off as I'm pretty sure I'd know if I hit someones boat.
But then I'd also know if I hit someones car with my scooter, like some goon did at a set of lights about a month ago, who then roared off, fortunately after a low speed chase through several streets and roundabouts in Takapuna he came to a red light and has been ok about it since.
What is it they say about 99% of lawyers giving the rest a bad name. (yep, he was one...)

What was the original post about again ?? cats or something
Foxes and steering wheels wasn't it?

Are there a sh*t tonne of people standing down the port rail of that speedship?
Not so sure about his (her??) driving tactics, wouldn't you be better to track it down wind rather than zigging and zagging about the ocean?

I see its the swing keel model, which I really rate. There is a lot about this boat that gets me excited. Unfortunately the price kills it for me straight away. Will have to stick to me 35 yr old kauri log.
Yeah, I'm not even sure why I was asking if it was here or not given I've barely got a brass razoo to my name and my boat has a growing list of things that need doing...
I like my similar aged Kauri log but immediately get excited when I see a pogo.

Amazing write up about the stranding and rescue attempt someone had put up on the Historic Vessel Vega FB page.
scroll down a bit for the Daring. They pretty much had her off only to get skunked by a new swell arriving just as they had gotten her afloat again.
The owner walked from south Manukau head up to the stranding site to get her off, how far is that? 80km?.

After 6 (gulp) months of parking fees I got to take some photo's looking back in.

No rocketship like most of the other entries but I love the look of the Boreals

Can you use this stuff before you get a bug?

What's with that bloody great shark hanging in the background of the tri...???

Ouch! But have to say, being out the Barrier in 2hrs would be pretty cool!
Not really my cup of tea but still a pretty cool machine and even at that cost must be way under what it cost to build.

Wrong number of hulls and I think shafts but you could film at that speed all the way to Fiji with this.
Totally off topic but, how much fuel an hour are you burning at 27 knots? 100L? Or more?
Yesterday she traveled from Tauranga to Wellington in 17 hours at an average speed of 27 knots.

Maybe the dinghy clubs should do more days where they just go for a blast around the harbour, maybe sail to an island and camp for the night. Show the kids who don’t win every race that it can be for fun too. Those are the kids Sailing is loosing, and the kids who could own keel boats, the top kids will be at the olympics or paid crew over seas somewhere.
That's a bloody interesting thought! It's those sort of things that make memories that stick with kids for life as well, and if those memories stick they're more likely to stay with it.
We spent quite a bit of time skiing this year, the bits the kids liked the most was going on little missions into the gulleys and guts the volcano has, stuff that tested them a bit, the last day we walked up to the crater lake, skiing down was by far the highlight of the season for them. That's the same as sailing out to an island and camping.
My oldest fella is 8 now so old enough to do the youth thing at Milford which I was quite keen to get him to do but it's every Friday night and that interferes with me (us as a family) going out in our boat some now I'm not that keen on the idea, but after reading about the posters here that raced dinghy's as kids I'm wondering if I need to rethink my thinking...

Wow, you're the odd one out if you're not French.
120+ entries, 17 non frenchies.

Interesting guy, sounds like he spent a good bit of time down here, anyone ever meet him?

Someone is going to be very seriously hurt or even killed by Buoy Cafe/Beacon/The Ponce this summer. How someone hasn't been already is a constant source of wonder for all of us in that area.
I think he's referring to the pedestrian crossing beside the roundabout/breakwall?
Have to say I took one look at that and my very first thought was that it looked like an accident waiting to happen.

My understanding was as long as you provided the link you were in the clear.
Their t&c says -
Linking to the Service
We permit links to the Service from other websites ('third party websites') on condition that:- you clearly identify the link to the Service as a link to swellnet.com,
- you regularly check the link to ensure that it remains current,
- you do not provide a link in a context or a manner which disparages our reputation,
- you must not use the link or information provided on the Service for your own commercial purposes,
- we may cancel our consent to a link at any time and, if we request it, you must immediately remove the link, and
- you indemnify us against any harm we may suffer as a result of your link.
Given I unfortunately work in a totally unrelated much more mundane field I don't think 8.4 applies to me.
Only put it up there as thought it was an interesting read, happy to remove it if anyone has been offended...

Does anyone know where you can buy 1 piece dorades with a flexible base?
I can only find the new version which has no base as part of the actual dorade but has a plastic insert (with the base) which goes up into the dorade (bit hard to see on this link but there are two parts - https://fostersshipchandlery.co.nz/products/homer-low-profile-flexi-cowl-vents)
I can't get my bronze (screw on) fitting over the bulge in the new version.
