I read his comment as him letting off steam. A bit tactless perhaps, but nothing more. Forgive, forget and let's see if it works.

I don't pay without question though . it's not "the man" . it's my council and I'm happy to pay reasonable price for waterfront public utility
-
Don't jump to sh*t conclusion. They may be using the word market differently. Cost recovery? Opportunity cost? What the market will bear?
-
Happy to pay my increase.

Where are you? In Auckland the harbour master asks for boat dimensions then says yeah or nay to boat on that mooring.

Seems they represent developers who think they can cash in . mainstream media is broken in Nz. Heard bits of Nz radio national program about community news websites. Have been meaning to check it out. So now I will.

This sort of "economic" analysis is total bullshit. Coal production adds to GDP, ambulances and accidents add to GDP. Try a Yacy search for critique of this self-serving "research".

I've done a bit more research on this. It's a no brains proposition to ignore marine reserves. If you want more fish you establish more reserves. Paradoxical but true. Less than 1%of our waters protected.
-
So if MDo was all that was available, could you have processed it to make it work in yacht diesel engine?
-
I'm an economist so know that these numbers are spurious unless "Natural Resource Accounting" is used. What's your opinion? Should we use natural resource accounting? Should the survey put a proper value on marine reserves?
-
Will the value of more marine reserves be included in the research?

Aw shucks on price. Sure you couldn't say more than $10k less then $100k or something like that? And do I have to be a young strong man to sail one? Stunned by the pic on minitransat.fr rotating pics. Seems all men. I can't upload the image here. I get an error message from this website. Must be Matt's new software
-
Can you tell us the price? Or ballpark?

$5K for a liveaboard? thats a tall ask unfortunately. With a liveaboard you want most systems relating to the accommodation to be working - fridge, water, electrical. And you still want it to float...
Anyone got anything more useful for the OP?
Disagree. I've seen little Coronet 20 recently that would be heaps better than a tent and the owner wants to sell before they go back to China in Dec.

Would be cheaper to buy a good sleeping bag. Where are you camping? I wouldn't do any sailing either till the docs say so. You might be interested in my physio story

Aluminium bolts ? seriously ?
Ullrich have monel rivets in a few sizes , be prepared to be shocked at the price per unit , but of course its cheap insurance.
You can make washers to isolate the SS from the ali out of ice cream containers or even use tap washers if you have the room.
I'm new to this game but knew about electrolysis problem. Task was to attach plastic tube rub rail all around the gunnels of my aluminium dinghy to stop it scratching the big boat. In the end I used SS self-tapping screws. I thought of rivets but didn't know how to use them with washers or whatever to avoid squashing the plastic tubing too much. Keen to know what I could have done.

Be careful of electrolysis between SS and aluminium and other electrolysis.

Have you questioned the bill? I had the same with a company and they agreed, eventually, to do the right thing. On another occasion another company refused and I won't deal with them again.
