Got to sort all that before you bid though.

Looks like you can have another go. Happens far too often with these things.

$1k/pm wouldn't be too far out of line for a 60 footer though?

State of the motor is what would give me pause. Does it really just need a service, or is it re-power time?

The most amazing one was the guy leaving Milford Marina before the tide was in (in the dark) he shot out of the calm creek like a champagne cork then promptly hit the surf and was wrecked.😕 Lucky to survive himself
Bit of a head scratcher that one. Saw them on the beach securing the wreck, got the impression she'd been sucked out of the marina by the ebb (maybe just my assumption). Then heard later that she'd gone out under her own power and that very much left me wondering why you'd do that!

One metre of water through my workshop. Lots of power tools took a bath. Thought I'd let them dry out with a bit of help and then pluck up courage to pull the triggers. Not super hopeful!
Sometimes they come right when dry. Sometimes not. Fingers crossed.

Eeek. Apparently the tugs probably didn't have the ability to tow her in those conditions. So damn good thing they managed to restore power...

Ouch. The river moorings would have been particularly "exciting". Hope the damage isn't too bad.

We ran home yesterday morning based on the forecast. Almost wish we hadn't, yes yesterday sucked but it seems to have blown through pretty quickly and not bad out there today.

Oneroa

Always wary of overnight at Oneroa for this reason. Even if it's not that big, can be annoying.

Would be nice to see it succeed. Anniversary day and coastal numbers aren't the spectacle they used to be, having at least one huge fleet a year would be great. That said I can't see requiring a PHRF cert being helpful in getting the numbers up.

Yuck. Just as well that we weren't planning to go out again until late Jan. Hopefully summer returns by then.

... why on earth do RAYC want the yard closed!? Really just so they can get some storage??

I'm not surprised that individual local boards would rather have a waterfront park than a hardstand in their bailiwick. But as pointed out by others above, the city needs to have the facilities somewhere, particularly if the various new biosecurity regs are to be met.

Sounds like I’m racing two piedies ?
I heard there's a piedy that got a 100k birthday. Can't decide how I feel about that if true.

If selling an older boat, maybe a good idea to get a signed purchase agreement from the new owner.
I imagine the issue is more disproving fake sales, rather than proving legitimate ones.

Not the worst article I've ever read in stuff, but rather misses the point that ownership costs (marina, haul out, etc.) have been rising so fast as to render more and more small and old boats "economically unviable".
-
Bit funny that. Anyone know why?

I don't know what 'integration issues' is a euphemism for here, but I doubt they ran out of charge. If you do have that sort of problem, you know it's coming in advance, and don't have passengers onboard away from the wharf when it happens. So I'd say it's something else.

There are toilets ashore there, so I guess it's possible they're doing the right thing. Wouldn't take a lot of observing to know.

Much less coal this year.

Last year wasn't good, it's true.

The actual generation mix depends quite strongly on how much rain has fallen and thus how much water is behind the dams. Right now electricity is extremely cheap, because it's been wet and there's heaps behind the hydro dams. Last year it was dry and prices were very high as they conserved the water.

Or just let it break up on the rocks in matiatia. Apparently that's allowed now... 🙄
