Hi guys,

A good friend gave us a self-steering unit to try on our boat, a "servohelm" unit made by Trans Terrain Ltd in Christchurch.  I am keen on finding some more information about this unit, most specifically how the vane attaches to the pivoting part at the top of the upright section, as it appears I am missing some small parts.

Does anybody have any experience with, or information on these self steering systems?

Thanks,

Robin

a quick google only turns up the company address

480 Selwyn Street
8011 Christchurch - Addington
Canterbury - South Island - New Zealand

http://www.infobel.c...essdetails.aspx

but as above, most of these mechanical systems are various versions of each other

so pics of what you've got would be a good start

then others could direct you to similar systems

speaking of which

i have an old windpilot atlantik 4?

in the garage that needs a new permanently down servo rudder made and mounted on the heavy SS shaft

cost me $50 as a project for a boat now gone

$50 or a bottle of rum if anyone wants it
