wheels 543
Can someone in the know tell me if this "machine" is the real deal or not. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Business-farmi ... 498506.htm I have my doubts because it is not high pressure. It sounds more like just a really fine filtering going on. And the comment about it leaving in essential Minerals doesn't make sense, because therefore, it shouldn't be able to remove some rather nasty chemicals either. Something tells me either this seller is nieve and doesn't actually know what Reverse Osmoses actually is, or he is knowingly selling something that is not the real deal, or I am wrong and this is actually Reverse Osmosis and we boaters now have a very affordable system available. too_tall 15
Not too sure its an RO system, but the quality of the pump would be a big concern for me. Its the same type that came with a quad sprayer I bought once, the first one lasted about 1000 liters, the replacement lasted about the same. The third one which they gave me was a flowmaster and its still going 5 years later.... Mfg's site... http://www.fluxtek.com/index.php This is where it comes from no doubt http://www.alibaba.com/member/tw100421603.html
Absolution 7
It may well be RO but I suspect the membrane will not handle salt water...
rigger 47
this looks similar and has similar capacity http://www.fluxtek.com/works_more.php?product_id=170 it is listed as a residential RO system. I think you are right Wheels - it is just a filtering system
rigger 47
the trademe photo has the main sticker missing on the unit.
Grinna 2
Hmmmm, sounds like a crock to me. You can't remove dissolved ionic components of the water (e.g. chlorine, fluoride, nitrates, etc) and still leave in essential trace elements. Fine filtration and reverse osmosis isn't likely to do anything for the oxygen saturation ("add to the oxygen balance" is a meaningless statement) and "improve the pH of the water"???? Sounds like techno-babble from someone who doesn't know what they're talking about or its advertising copy to sell to ignorant people who are concerned about water quality but don't know any technical details. Guest
It's a low pressure RO system for removing trace contamination in fresh water supplies. Not suitable for sea water.
