  1. Yip, but i guess experience only come with age. ... And youth is wasted on the young people.... Which is great for us older guys.
  2. ?... I think you might be on the spectrum. I did not write Beale!
  3. Can't find this in trademe. Any link?
  4. To racey a cockpit for me. Need more open, twin wheel, open transom. Nice boats. Is yours Northern rebel?
  5. Is that a statement or question?... Try to moderate your drinking eh! Not even close. Coutts by a country mile followed by Ainsley. Then Conner. I don't rate the 49er ahead of the finn. The finn is a tougher class to win.
  6. Dont get me wrong I've built and owned timber boats of all makes in the past. I just want about with space head room, easily sailed, and onky requires a annual AF, wax, buff, basic service... Been watching a Elliot tourer twin forestay fast cruiser in the bay with much admiration. Got up to take a photo yesterday and it's gone. The big Dickson boat is nice but wrong internal and cockpit set up. Joke for the day... 6 out of 7 dwarfs are not happy. ๐Ÿ˜
  7. High maintenance - timber, Carvel, old, , Low Maintenance - fibreglass, epoxy, vinyl ester, new, No maintenance - a boat parked up / abandoned and left to deteriorate with the owner never doing one bit of maintenance.
  8. Inches matter when your 6'4". 2M bunk length is great .
  9. The fuel bill might be a bit tight on the budget. But otherwise... ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿ‘Œ
  10. Same could be said for you. No offence. I don't tip toe around anybody or anything. And I didn't see any rules that said i had to be treated as a week and feeble person before I rose to the ranks of being accepted by forum members who believe they are the forum moderators and can be rude to people on the pretence that they think they are someone else.
  11. Ask IT. He will tell you exactly that I have only one account. How many do you have Sabre?... Maybe Fish?
  12. Not really. The oil keeps flowing, Emirates keep going. Same with Etihad, Qatar. But the rest are reliant on Govts
  13. What are you not smoking rehab. I think someone with half a brain would pick up the obvious nuances of one person's posts no matter how many account s. I'm just pointing out a flaw and how people use data via devices. I'm happy with the rule.

    Breaking Out

Why does it need relaunching? It's winter break. Flag the winter racing, do the Mahi then get the treats in spring๐Ÿค™
  15. Yip it is fun, especially making cheap 4 peice polystyrene moulds, fairing them with sheetrock, taping them with cheap Brown packing tape, then doing some exotic carbon layup. Then spraying with many coats of 2 pack clear poly. Made my first surf board with polystyrene home made blank ( liberated the poly from a cool store waste area), with ply insert longitudinal centre stringers then glassed with epoxy, cured, cut hole in the back ( transom) then dissolved the poly out with petrol!... What a nightmare... Couldn't have a naked flame (Not even the girlfriend) Within a meter! of that bad boy.. it was a shocker. But light as You learn so much,. But as you get older, wealthier, and time challenged , you just buy it !
  16. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8174843/amp/Foreign-backpackers-filmed-partying-Bondi-blatantly-ignore-coronavirus-social-distancing.html Here's the real issue. It's not swimming, or boating.
  17. Seriously... What the police say they are doing and what they actually do, as your know, never quite line up. ( Read previous posts in context to mine ) Also what is reported in the presser is not necessarily an accurate assessment of what the police intend to do and actually will do. If it was Hone pushing the envelope of the law, then they will do nothing except smoke the peace pipe and share joke. But.. one jet ski idiot and the police have the power to " nail any boaties ass to the wall" even if they are just motoring to a wharf to pick up supplies. The powers of the police are more powerful than you think and open to interpretation at a individual police officer level, rightly or wrongly. With current comms confusion I would not be second guessing anything.
  18. I was not judging you. I was just point out there is another way at looking at repair v replace and your methodology's. No one wrong here. Just different perspectives. I wasted many hour doing exotic repair on all sorts of stuff. Like most yachties, I've spent years with my body exposed to Marines finest toxins. My first car, back in the day, ended up costing more than a new one ( over 5 years) and I eventually learnt that replace was better for the environment, my sanity, and health, than repair... But gee I learnt a lot. Repaired / rebuild engines, gearboxes, diffs, clutchs, suspension... Remember, exposure to toxins reduces your life. Exposure is cumulative, Health is everything!.... This to me means replace instead of repair.
  19. A $300k boat is a Bit different to a $100 paddle. And if your paying more than $100 you are being fleeced.
  20. Oh and X% =100%... We all waste and pollute!... Everybody on the planet, everyone!
  21. But seriously... The policing if boaties will require all police maritime resources and coastguard vessels to be active... Which means more people on the water being exposed ... I think they are after the plonkers on hjet skis, kite surfers, fizz boats and wakas with no life jackets..
  22. Desperate times demand desperate measures Jimmy! My measure be by the Nip!
