DrWatson 379
So, at what point in a boat's construction is it said to exist? From when the keel is laid, or from when it is launched? Or some point in between? I mean, at what point can you say you own a boat if you are building it yourself? Undeniably if you have the hull planked and the deck on, a passerby would look and say "you've got a boat". Probably the same without the deck. But the keel and frames? How complete does it have to be to be registered?

SloopJohnB 322
When it proves it can float.... no float no boat I can remember a FC boat been launched at Half Moon Bay back in the 70'S ......it just kept on following the slipway. They rebuilt her with piles of foam and fibreglass between the waterline and the heel in the keel. Talk about slack bilges.
