Is the through hull metal or plastic? So has it an insert and an outer tube, or one piece ? What's the diameter of the tube ? You may be able to just use the same tube, new insert and screen, or, use the same thru hull hole and new transducer. This is not an expensive sonar - the equivalent Lowrance would be like a Hook 4x, under $700 with thru hull transducer.

Navman used Pin 1 as depth + / Pin 5 as depth - and Pin 6 as shield.
If you are using the Speed/temp unit as well, Pin 2 is ground for Temp and speed, Pin 3 is signal for speed, Pin 4 is signal for temp
All you need to do is find out the pin config for your new Sounder.
The bigger issue will be power. The Navman 440 was 400W and 200Khz. You may find many newer units are 600W and that may be too much for the older transducer, plus they could be dual freq or a frequency inbetween.
When looking at specs, make sure you look for the apples and keep them separate from the oranges. RMS, Peak, or Peak to Peak power etc.
