Addem 100
Well they think they did. Translation of the post is: "Victory of Mariska 1908 in the Giraglia Rolex Cup 2016-great race - in IRC 0. HUGE!" Mariska 1908 is the gaff rigged schooner (?) in the middle of the start line. Built in 1908 on a similar design as Thomas Lipton's Shamrock. Looks like they claimed the divisional win, I think they are in the IRC 0 (against some classy boats) but the results say they got a 2nd, 17th and DNF to end up 43rd. According to they own website they won everything. They certainly are crowing about it and the 2nd place against some classy boats is a standout result. The race was in trying conditions with 0-40 knots and lots of boats parking up. Seems Mariska finished under jib alone. Feel good story of the yachting year? Or marketing hyperbole? SloopJohnB 322
1908 that's 108 years of old age allowance should rate about 1/4 tonner.
