vic008 17
Any suggestions on how to make a pair of bases that will bolt onto deck and coaming side, about 220 high. They will be prob be half round.Any material OK. Any ideas please?
tuffyluffy 76
I had smaller (50mm high) ones made by a wood turner on a lathe. I supplied a lump of jarrah to the required thinkness and he machined them to the diameter i needed. Perhaps laminate some hardwood to your desired height and do the same, then cut them in half. Dambo 44
I made up two teak rounds. Band-saw from square then finished on my mates lathe. Made a paper hole pattern off the base of the winch, and drilled the holes on the drill press. Took me about 30 minutes each/1 hour total. Sealed them with Sikkens Cetol as I recall. They looked swag as... 220 high, kauri fence post anyone? I'm guessing you'll be screwing the winch to the post?
