Kevin McCready 83
Just discovered a new word and and what looks like an appalling knot. nabby/nabbie/nobby. A type of sailing boat used in Scotland, traditionally having a raking mast, a lugsail, and a jib. Associated chiefly with herring fishing on Loch Fyne and in the Firth of Clyde. (defn is from the full Oxford English Dictionary available to anyone with an Auckland Library card at http://0-www.oed.com.www.elgar.govt.nz/ The appalling knot is on the main banner on this website which mentions a nabby/nobby/nabbie in Ireland http://afloat.ie/blogs/sailing-saturday-with-wm-nixon/itemlist/tag/Wooden%20boat Am I wrong about the knot? Island Time 1,239
Yep, it'll work, just don't try to undo it. Interesting for a site about restoring classics...
Kevin McCready 83
I thought it would also have a lower breaking point than a bowline?
