darkside 61
There is a really good article in the February issue Yachting World by Jimmy Cornell about the extraordinary changes that have occurred in the cruising routes used over the last twenty years. Most of it bought about by piracy and the virtual closing of the Suez as an option. It was also noted the changes bought about by climate change with the North West passage now getting much more viable. However for every win there is a loss with a typhoon being recorded in every month in the NW Pacific in 2015 so there is no longer a "safe" season there. With our first ever category 5 in May in the SW Pacific happening now in Vanuatu are we seeing the start of the same thing here?
Black Panther 1,591
I was thinking similar, we used to race to Noumea late April.
Jon 360
Maybe we just need to change where we head to I'm planning heading to FP in April but just not for a couple more years yet
