Break in at Milford Marina

This just came through on email.  

 

There has been a report of a break in on a launch on E pier.
 
The boat had been completely stripped.  Outboard, Navman, Radio, Lifejackets, Stereo, Fishing Rods, all solar panel connections etc. completely ransacked.   It appeared to be a pre-meditated hit.  It was very organised, unscrewing walls to undo wiring.  It would appear someone was taking things to fit out their own boat.  
 
If anyone knows any information please call the club. 
We also advise you check your own boats.
If there have been signs of tampering please also report this to the club so we can forward it to the police investigation team.

Maybe a snatch to order??

 

A boat in Westhaven lost a pile of gear last week. All was from inside and the list of the gear taken does read like a shopping list.

 

Westhaven?  I thought with their new gate entry and all the security guards biking around that Westhaven would be the last place a boat would able to be robbed like that? Far out!

Wouldn't put it past someone to row in at night...happened in a marina I was in.

Brings to mind a spate of outboard thefts some years ago at 1/2 Moon Bay. I think the prick had his boat berthed there, would go around in a dinghy at night and load them aboard his boat. That was how he was getting them out without showing up on camera.
