MarkMT 68
I was incredibly sad to read this news today, Sandra Tartaglino, a well-known US cat sailor was killed in an accident this past weekend on Narragansett Bay while competing in the New England 100. Her F18 was struck by a motorboat, she was thrown into the water and did not survive. https://www.wpri.com/news/local-news/east-bay/dem-identifies-woman-killed-in-boating-accident-on-narragansett-bay/ She was very active in the F18 class. I didn't know her well but had met her when competing in the F16 Worlds in Newport a few years ago. Tributes have been posted by the US F18 and Hobie class associations - https://www.catsailingnews.com/2019/08/in-memoriam-sandra-tartaglino.html A sobering reminder for us all to take care out there. Accidents happen, but it's wrenching when they end so tragically.
AJ Oliver 154
Yes, so very sad - but Mark is more forgiving than me . . Looks a lot like negligent homicide to me.
