Guest
Having a total brain fade and suddenly got paranoid. Repair just done to my boat using epoxy (West) which I'm 97% sure is a polyester built boat. Did I just cock-up or knot? Which statement is correct? 1 - It's OK to put epoxy onto old polyester but knot the other way around 2 - It's OK to put polyester onto Epoxy but knot the other way around. morspeed 1
No#1 Good (as long as you remove any styrene wax off poly surface first) No#2 Bad
wheels 543
Yep your OK KM. Epoxy over Poly, not the otherway around. Epoxy will bond to cured Poly. Poly does not do well at sticking to anything. In fact, not even itself if the original is fully cured.
