Guest
does anyone have a tiller for a small keeler or trailer yacht to sell? anything considered ideally solid timber so that it can be easily modified to suit.
Marshy 30
How small is small? I have an alloy one and a stainless one off the SR26 that are both not being used as i have a carbon one. Can measure it up if you like but think its about 1.5 metres. What kind of boat?
PaulR 3
I knocked up a straight tiller for one boat (727) so it could be launched that afternoon simply by using a bit of pine and a belt sander. Worked fine. Later replaced with original tiller which I was varnishing at that time. Only had 5 of its 13 coats on so did knot want to damage it. Later gave the pine tiller a varnishing and now we have an emergency tiller that we KNOW fits the rudder head perfectly. Tip: I built a stand so the belt sander can operate upside down, clamped into my B&D Workmate. So portable and has done a lot of work that way.
