:?: Many factors.

How big is your boat :?:

From where exactly bound towards where exactly :?:

Are you going directly there :?: Rhumb line or Great Circle :?: and any other points of interest :?: Easter Island, Cape Horn or Japan are all interesting.

Will you be motoring or sailing :?:

If sailing, below what speed do you start your motoring :?:

So a few more clues or should that be clews in your boat :?:

When are you departing :?: (Time & tidal factors)

Then we can give a definate maybe or a possible perhaps accurate guesstimate, with a margin expessed in what units?

Years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes or seconds.

Yes so that is a bit harder.

BTW FWIW, there is a definative accurate answer to:

"How long is a piece of string?"

Okay, nevermind then.

I was hoping to use some of your guesses as humourous references midway through the soon to be published account of the weekend's RPNYC Ship's Cove race, but since no one wants to play the game I will just write it up a different way...

If seasickness is present or about to burst forth, then it's toooo loooong.

If warm and sunny with a nice gentle breeze, flat sea, then knot long enough.

Wait no more as "kiwi_bardy" obviously can't, and I thought he was serious.

"How long is a piece of string?"
