Ballystick Blues

Ballystick opened the hazing of his nice neighbour last week with the post of my photos of Extreme. This happened to him last Wednesday night in beautiful conditions. In a south westerly, the turn from the Western Channel at Banks buoy is a favourite hunting ground with the camera. Everyone tries to keep their kites up as long as possible (read too long). His sequence starts at the second commented photo.

It was much closer than the pictures show though, we saw the puff coming but it didn't look much but was knock - you can hear the call - ease, ease, Ease, Ease, EASE, EASE !!!?!

Then silence waiting for the hit, a 360 with the kite up and off we go again to the finish, only dropped one place.

Looks like a nice new MH gennaker on the former-Butcher-turned-Squealer just after that sequence.

Impressive fleets/conditions and last but not least, photography in Tauranga. Keep 'em coming and of course remember to save your best moment of the race for right in front of the camera boat.

Squealer looks good out there, it will be interesting to see how they get on downwind in the confined harbour channels of the harbour with most other boats running symmetrical sails just to make it interesting. Especially on a downwind start that is common this time of year.

A lot of the photos are around the tug berth area, just where Rigger hangs out now.
