Handheld Radios

I just bought a cheap Cobra for my grab bag VHF. The Uniden is about the same price and waterproof but personally I like the option of being able to throw in a few AAA batteries when you need to. Murphy's Law dictates that anything rechargeable will be flat when you need it most.

So I bought the Cobra HH350.

It floats, it's submersible, it has plenty of power, the charging unit/base came with a 12v/socket charger so can be charged on the boat, I could buy a second battery which can be charged in the base unit without needing to be actually on the radio and (for who-knows how much money) you can buy a battery caddy which means you can use AA batteries - I'd probably buy a spare 'normal' and waterproof battery first.

I'm happy.
