Hi all

Crew.org has the opportunity to interview one of the most influential yacht designers new Zealand has produced over the last 40 years. Like the interview the the Fields heres your opportunity to ask some question that Ron will answer. Questions need to be in by 11:00am Wednesday morning.

For those of the 'facebook generation' here is a little bit about Ron if you dont know who he is.

ROn, who is widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential yacht designers, has been involved with the yacht design industry for 37 years. The Ireland-based yacht designer, who was born and raised in New Zealand, has design studios in Kinsale, Ireland, and in Vancouver, Canada.

First question:

Your early success was with IOR level classes (one ton, 1/4 ton), when you look back at them now do you see great old boats, or do you see pigs that couldn't be controlled downwind?

Is it harder today for a kid doodling boats in school than it used to be, and what has changed?

Where are the designers coming from these days?

Who would you rate among today's top designers (excluding yourself of course)

Now that you are making your living off megyachts, is there any relevance for the average joe in his 4ksb? Or are they simply living in separate worlds?

If it's Ron Howard, was the Fonz really cool or was it just an act, did you ever want to just punch Potsie in the face.

For Ron Holland,

what is your favourite design and why.

If you had a blank chequebook what boat would you like to build.

How do you feel about the Americas Cup in Cats.

Where do you see the Major developments in Yacht design over the next 10 years.
