ricka 3
Hi all...I think have gone completely mad and have a crazy urge to build a Pelin Sandpiper 8M sharpie. The trouble is I have never seen one except for in a few pictures and the study plans. Does anybody know the whereabouts of one that I can look at and hopefully talk with the owners. Guest
Can't help but I have looked at lots of sharpies, always seemed a good simple way to build a boat, and some of them are gorgeous. I perticularly like Bolger's Black Skimmer http://www.nexusmarine.com/skimmer_home.html Do you have room to do it at home or are you renting space, keep us informed, love a good building project. ricka 3
Thanks for the links - any sharpie info gratefully received. There doesn't seem to many in New Zealand. She'll be built in the double garage at home. Ill have to build a box around one door and lay it out diagonally. Actually the other part of the plan is once its all setup and sailing to our liking we'll be putting it in a shipping container on a road trailer to Europe so we can canal/lake/river and coastal hop for a season or 2. Buy a LH drive once there. The grand retirement plan which is fast approaching.
Guest
This isn't strictly a sharpie but still along those sort of lines....http://www.yachtdesign.com.br/02_ingles ... c41-2.html Interesting with electric drive.
Variant 2
There is something very similar to the Sandpiper in the latest Boating NZ. Cool boat with ketch cat rig and shallow draft.
John B 106
That'd be the Norwalk Island Sharpie Rodney Wilson had built circa 1990? NIS are designed by Bruce Kirby ( laser)
