tuffyluffy 76 Posted August 5, 2012 Share Posted August 5, 2012 Jono, I popped down to introduce myself and say gidday, but $NZ$52.00 for a double pass to walk through a glorified chandlery advertisement and then wander down a marina berth is money badly spent in my opinion. So we went for a lunch of prawns, Sav blanc and Peroni’s instead. Ideal for someone who thinks they can afford a second hand TP52 but in reality can't afford to run one. Paul Hakes was running around spruiking his JV42 IRC which is underway. He is also about to announce a 33 foot race version which will be a great replacement for any 1050 owners. Production Boats. My picks. X Yachts XP38. All class. The level of detail is so impressive. Other worthies. Elan 31. Ideal for those who want a new club racer / cruiser at a lower budget. Big cockpit, fast reaching. Leaves the First 30 for dead. Dufour 36 Salona 38 Dehler 41. Take your choice at whatever price point. And the First 40 is still a benchmark. In the halls. My stuff is better than most. The new Suzuki 15 and 20 will be the pick for those remotoring outboards. Pricing more realistic. Cheap nasty stuff, or reasonably priced good stuff. Again take your pick, and NZ is well ahead of the game.
