dkd 3 Posted September 8, 2012 Share Posted September 8, 2012 All, Looking for some input as to what people have in the way of masthead mounted VHF antenna and problems others have had with whatever brands. Mine must be masthead mounted (Cat3) and seems wherever I look somebody has better product that the one I had just looked at, and am trying to avoid the minefield. woodsy 0 Posted September 17, 2012 Share Posted September 17, 2012 Hi Doesnt need to be mast head for Cat 3. I have one of those wire whip types, about a metre long, mounted on the pushpit. The boat has Cat 2 and the VHF had good reception around the north island in the last RNI. It is a good quality one, from memory cost about $140. Link to post Share on other sites
Jon 360 Posted September 17, 2012 Share Posted September 17, 2012 If your anywhere near Auckland go to Pacific aerials in East Tamiki, they make the best and if you ask nicely the may sell it to you at trade.
