Fogg 427
Towing a boat correctly and safely is a task often underestimated and misunderstood. It creates liability and safety issues hence many marinas (esp overseas) refuse to do it especially from outside the entrance. I'm not surprised at Westhaven's stance. Gulf Harbour say the same but they will help you if you can sail yourself into the marina - not as easy as entering Westhaven so you should consider yourself lucky down there! floating dutchman 0
The way I'm reading this (with no actual knowledge of what's happening) is that the marina are giving them self the tools to not help folk who just need to learn how to manoeuvre a boat and read a fuel gauge and free them selfs up for the folk who are just down on a bit of luck or have done the occasional F* up. Sounds like a good thing.
PaulR 3
Chatting last week to one of the friendly staff (as he wandered around the piers), who said "things are normal, no changes, still there to help". He knew nothing of the above. Possibly I may get an update tomorrow.
