  1. Just replaced the traveller on a Farr 1020, track is 1.5m long and 32mm x 32mm was unsupported between the seats and is still dead straight. Car is in reasonable conditions, Boat was raced every week and traveller worked fine but has been replaced with new Harken kit. Includes Track, Car, 2x single pulley with becket and 2x double block to give 2:1 purchase on the traveller. only listed her so PM me otherwise will put to trademe in the new year. Prefer to see the whole lot go as one $300
  2. Hi, we have nearly the same as Farrari a 60L holding tank under the starboard berth, we have an electric toilet with a value that either goes straight to sea or to the holding tank. The then have a manual pump that empties the holding tank, vent is into the front anchor locker. We use the boat every week so make a point of flushing to keep the water moving. Happy for you take a look if you are out Pine Harbour way. Plumbing is simple and you could do it yourself in a weekend if you have the time.
  3. Also worth looking at a lidgard 29 if there is one on the market, Probably quicker than the rest and fairly big downstairs. Walk through transom as well
  4. I will have in a couple of weeks, just waiting on new bit to arrive for the new traveller. I think it is ronstan can get a photo during the week for you to check, definitely 32mm I Beam track
  5. Murray doesn't have a great reputation for speed, but does built an excellent sail, once it took 6months to get a code zero but the result was brilliant. unfortunately his time management needs some work but you will no doubt like the result when it arrives. 10 years ago nearly every boat at bucks was running windward, and I have probably bought 10+ sails from him without getting a bad one, but have seen snails move quicker
  6. and take two per kid, need a sailing lifejacket and a swimming jacket, we have good ones for sailing (crotch strap etc) and then simple vests for swimming in. Means they always have a dry jacket for sailing.
  7. looks like we might be looking for some last minute ballast with that much north in it
  8. would a total of 70 metres be enough for barrier? have not cruised there much but know it tends to be the deepest place around here
  9. For a 1020, so not a lot of space in the anchor locker once you get the anchor in there but would like to be okay anchoring at the barrier when I need to, thinking 20metres of chain then how much rope would you buy?
  10. so far other options not panning out so keen to sort out a deal, you inbox seems full so PM or email craig@verde.co.nz
  11. Anyone got a 4 man liferaft in service they want to rent for coastal weekend? PM with details. Pick up Thursday prior to labour weekend and drop off Tuesday after
  12. Next Sunday of Eastern Beach BBYC and PHCC are combining there race days with 2 W/L races. 9 confirmed 1020's are entered so any other 1020's who want to get in on the action it is going to be an epic day, for more details give the BBYC a call or check out the website http://www.bbyc.org.nz/winterseries.php?PHPSESSID=246e2f976ae8588469ab0c66160375da
  13. and as a secondary question, budget is there now for either a smart charger and installation, or replacing the current lead acid batteries (which are 2 years old) with AGM batteries, which one do you think will be the best spend of the money? All this is leading up to eventually replacing an old electric fridge. So eventually will do it all but probably over 18months. Current alternator is a 60amp valeo somthing
  14. Anyone one got any recommendations? So far it looks like a BEP unit. Want to be able to keep track of how much left mainly, and when batteries are fully charged
  15. That's what I need and way cheaper than expected
  16. Want a camera so I can drill a couple of holes in my fridge and have a look around without ripping the whole thing apart? Anyone know if you can rent one? Or recommend anyone that does this?
  17. I sold my first boat to match the wifes deposit on the first house, apparently I was unbearable for the next three years and have been allowed a boat ever since, but only one at a time is the rule I have had to live by
  18. Upgrading has a lot to do with restraint. I would have loved a young 11, and even looked at a couple of 40 footers but the reality is I don't like working too hard and owning bigger boats means bigger maintenance bills. I t also appears we are lucky at Pine Harbour as the berths are 10.5m So I bought the best boat I could afford that ticked the most boxes I could tick and knew that I could afford to maintain while paying the mortgage and not having to bust a gut working every hour to pay for it all. At the same time we accepted that we are not going to be upgrading the house. BooBoo
  19. Jon, I probably would have a hard time mounting a defence against that allegation!! but given in the first two months we spent more nights away on the new boat than in my entire sailing career I am hoping I have turned the cruising corner.
  20. been there done that recently, sold the coyote with the intention of getting a new race boat with some family cruising in mind. Would have preferred a young 11 and there were a couple on the market within the budget at the time, but maintenance and marina costs finally swayed me into a 1020, fits in my 10.5m Marina, can afford a new set of sails every few of years and I get to go class racing a couple of times a year (now all I need is some excuses for the performance). Wife happy as we can cruise with the kids which we pretty much did every weekend in summer. Did look at imports as we

  22. based on window size and colour Vestalia was there as well
